It’s September now. Lindsey got back from Slovakia early this month and, other than a community event in Spain I will be going to at the end of this month, our traveling for the year is slowing way down. The rest of the year will be spent planning and coordinating what will be done next year! We have some proposals that are in the budget approval process now and are just waiting to find out how much COH will be able to do next year! Lindsey and I are working on a really cool idea, which we will tell you more about when we have more details worked out. I am getting pretty excited about next year and what it will hold – there is a lot of potential.
In the meantime, Lindsey and I are going through language school! We’ve had about four classes so far. Lindsey, being way smarter, skipped the beginner’s course and went straight to level 3. So while she is doing stuff with grammar in French that I don’t even understand in English, I am diligently studying the alphabet. It’s good though – my class is actually advancing quicker than normal, according to the teacher. But it is really an awesome opportunity to meet people from all over the world. In my class, for example, there are 13 people from 12 different countries. It’s an awesome opportunity to share Jesus with people. Well, it will be when we can speak a common language. In Lindsey’s class though, she is already starting that! She also may have even joined a running club with people who live here! We also just signed up to volunteer in children’s church at our church! We’ve been doing that since we’ve been married, but haven’t had a chance to do that here since we’ve been gone so much this summer. I’m really looking forward to it though! I love the honesty and authenticity of kids. The fact that they don’t seem to realize that I speak their language is a fun thing too.
Now, I usually like to try and have something that will encourage you guys, but I don’t really have that today. So I hope you don’t mind a regular update with a Bible verse I just read: Luke 12:22-23 “And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.”
