I can’t believe we’re already coming up on May. Approximately 8 months until our estimated departure.
Time is flying, life is changing, and things are happening!
Yesterday, for the first time ever, Zach and I were able to formally share our goals and vision in a public setting, at New Hope Church. It was such an honor to be the first missionaries invited to speak there!
With every step forward, it seems like this part of our lives is becoming more and more real. Once upon a time, I was just a high schooler, sitting through classes, doodling in the margins of my notes the words, “Belgium,” “Europe,” “COHEU,” dreaming of the day when it would all come to life. Once upon a time, I was a kid, talking about what I wanted to do one day, trying to convince people that it really was going to happen.
Today, Zach and I are Missionary Associates, with one speaking engagement behind us, hopefully many more in front of us, and a group of supporters beginning to come around us to help us change the future of Europe.
God truly is incredible. It’s a difficult stage of life – I will concede that. Its not easy, trying to grow connections and build friendships, all the while getting ready to say goodbye. It’s not easy preparing to leave behind a comfortable life, where family is close by, for a new country and continent where English is only the 3rd language, and we can count the number of people we already know on one hand.
But God is good. There is no better place to be than in God’s will and so as we move forward one step at a time, I am comforted to know, that we have so many friends and family behind us, and that God will be waiting for us on the other side.
