Last week was an amazing, unexpected, and much-needed time of prayer and encouragement for Zach and me. New Hope Church sent their young adults team on their very first missions trip (yay!!) to Brussels, Belgium to work with us! First, let me take a moment to express how humbling and honoring it is that they chose for their first missions trip as a church to be to come work with us of all people. So New Hope Church, thank you!

Their week was spent blessing a local church here with a lot of hard work and energy spent on renovations for their new kids room where the church will finally be able to teach the kids in their very own children’s services! They also had a chance to learn about a few other ministries that go on around here and get a feel for what ministry in Belgium looks like.

What none of us knew was that a key element of their trip would be lifting up Zach and me. This last year in Brussels has been difficult, for many reasons. Those who are in ministry know that it can be messy. On top of that when we follow God’s will for our lives, we make waves in the spiritual realm. In other words when fight for the kingdom of God, it is not done without opposition from the enemy, and when you live in this messy, tiring battlefield 24/7, you sometimes forget what it feels like to be truly refreshed and rested.

Zach and I have had our ups and downs, and knew that things could be tiring, but I don’t think we realised how desperately we were in need of prayer and encouragement from our Christian family until we were overwhelmingly surrounded in it this last week. We have walked away from this time reminded of our passion and hearts for Europe, the peace and strength that God has to offer us, and the perfect will of God in our lives.

However, we have also walked away from this trip realizing that we have been here for a year now, and have failed to take advantage of an untapped resource of prayer and support, and that is you. We will be trying to keep you better up to date on what is going on in our life, and we would like to start a prayer support list. Our newsletter will continue to go out quarterly(more or less), and this will include a list of things you can pray for. However, if you would a like a more frequent and in-depth understanding of ways you can pray for us, please let me know and send me your email address. Also, if you are not already receiving our newsletter and would like to (a new one will be coming out soon), please let me know that as well!

As always, thank you for your support and encouragement. Truly.
